Sergio Buonocore

Sergio Buonocore was born in Vico Equense on February 24th, 1966 and still lives and works there. Graduated at the Istituto Alberghiero of Vico Equense, he later discovered a completely different personal proclivity: painting. Its newlyfound passion surprisingly arouse wonder and amazement in those who first got to see his works. He then moved to Venice and lived there from 1994 to 1999 while perfecting his painting techniques. During his stay he incorporated the techinques of great Venetian masters of early 1900s. In Venice met Giorgio De Gasperi as well, one of the greatest illustrators of the 20th century, whose great passion for drawing and portrait was inherited by the artist.

I always try to convey sensations and emotions into my works: those that I felt myself thanks to my own sources of inspiration. This means that I hunt for beauty seen as a balance between the self and the surrounding world

Many are the exhibition of his works, and he has taken part in numerous collective exhibitions and national and international competitions. His works are displayed in prestigious Italian and European galleries, gathering flattering successes as well as reviews from renowned art critics and contemporary writers.
